Spooky Duck Productions was registered in July 2005 to produce The Young Tycoons and future productions written by Christopher Johnson and directed by Michael Pigott. "Retroactively" (ie before the name was actually registered) Spooky Duck have produced two seasons each of Barnesy, The Harbour and You and Backpacker! and worked in collaboration with Marguerite Pepper Productions on the Australian Tour and Cracker Comedy Festival productions of The Dog Logs.

Groucho Marx once observed that the funniest letter in the English language was the letter 'K', and that the funniest word in the English language was 'Duck', because it was a strange animal, it had a 'K' in it and it rhymed with 'F**k'. We think the idea of a Spooky Duck is funnier once again - especially since 'Spooky' has a 'K' in it...
