Backpacker is a much-expanded adaptation of Christopher’s play of the same name. An erotic comedy thriller: When young Sydney bankers Phil and Phoebe, and Jasper, a debt collector, head to the Coogee Bay Hotel, it’s in the hope of having some fun and maybe for Jasper to pick up a backpacker... Instead they meet Corisande, a young English traveller whose carefree beauty entrances them all. Soon Corisande is living with Phil and Phoebe, the perfect housemate… and source of desire. As sexual tension mounts among the group, suddenly their world is turned upside down by the arrival of Corisande’s brother Clive, whose dangerous presence comes to threaten their entire existence.
Backpacker is a completed screenplay with Luke Eve attached as Director. A three-and-a-half minute preview scene, shot on 35 mm with Nat Dean, Ella Lynch Scott, Teo Gebert and Sarah Vandenburg is available for prospective Producers to view on DVD by contacting the author's agent. |
